Marlborough Insurance Brokers Ltd is a corporate member of IBANZ, maintaining annual paid up membership status. To become a corporate member of IBANZ, insurance broking firms must meet the strict requirements of the Association and maintain them permanently. These self regulatory measures include a minimum paid up capital, client premium accounted for separately in reconciled Trust accounts, broking agreements with at least six insurers together with a prescribed level of professional indemnity and fidelity insurance.

In addition, evidence of solvency must be produced annually and certified by a chartered accountant in public practice. The Company's affairs must also be handled by a chartered accountant.

At all times a broker who is a member of the IBANZ shall comply with the following ethical criteria.

• Project the profession as ethical and above reproach.
• Be impartial, independent of any insurer and able, without hindrance or favour, to provide each client with proper insurance advice.
• Provide a professional service to clients whether they are individual persons or corporations.
• Comply with legislation which regulates or supervises the insurance industry of New Zealand.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards and the utmost good faith in all activities including clients, prospective clients, insurers, other members of the Corporation and the public at large.
• Have Qualified Staff with an extensive knowledge of insurance contracts and practices, achieved through QPIB standards upheld by IBANZ (Qualified Practising Insurance Broker) maintained yearly and continued commitments to training & education.
• As members, we are bound by IBANZ Code of Practice, which sets minimum and ethical standards for it's members for Professionalism, and any complaints, disputes, or conflicts of interest, and which upholds an independent Complaints and Disciplinary Committee. All members and clients have right of uninhibited access to the Complaints & Disciplinary Committee.
